Part of this ride is gravel but it is well made. The road surface is mostly rough sand and very small-grained gravel. If you like the smell of dirt this one is for you. It is a very good training ground for dirt-shy riders. We recommend you do this one with a friend if you are a complete dirt novice. Dirt riding can be very satisfying, give it a try.

It is famous for a reason! This is one of the world’s best bike roads. It offers both riding pleasure and scenery. You will enjoy the flat New England plateau on other occasions thick-forested ranges. Thunderbolts Way from Walcha to Gloucester is another great ride, although some sections have become somewhat choppy in recent times. For adventure riders, there are many dirt roads in the area, often with stunning scenery. It is a wonderful and quite different experience. Make a long weekend of it and soak up every moment.
